5 Fall Fire Safety Tips

As summer comes to an end and the leaves begin to fall, it is time to prepare for the cool temperatures ahead. Before arranging a bonfire or tapping into your Halloween decorations, make sure to acknowledge the fire hazards involved. Here are some fall fire safety tips to help keep yourself and others safe during the festive fall season:

                1. Be aware of burning regulations in your area, and monitor fires closely
                2. Check your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors
                3. Keep decorations away from open flames and other heat sources
                4. Use battery operated lights in Jack-O-Lanterns instead of candles
                5. Store flammable substances, such as paint and gasoline, away from your home and garage, preferably in a shed if you have one
