American Airlines
Located on the airside of O’Hare International Airport is American Airlines’ new 91,000 square foot facility. This two-story structure provides service and maintenance to general-use equipment and vehicles. American uses this equipment to support, fuel, and handle cargo for its commercial airplanes. As a result, this structure provides the fleet the ideal arrangement to get flights in and out of O’Hare on time, and safely.
USA Fire Protection provided the fire safety solutions to this facility. USAFP furnished and installed the wet pipe sprinkler systems for the truck wash bays, vehicle service bays, miscellaneous storage areas, as well as administrative offices. Included in this install was a new fire pump. This provided adequate water pressure to properly service the new sprinkler systems. To get this project off the ground, the USAFP team worked through a variety of challenges taking flight with positivity and productivity. USAFP relied on extensive design coordination with other MEP trades. This was due to the high number of mechanical piping and conduit racks located within the building. Above all, nothing stands in the way of USAFP, our team was able to finish this project on time and within budget.
